Elections for 243 assembly seats in Bihar are going to be held in 3 phases from 28 October 2020 to 7 November. In the first phase, elections will be held for 71 assembly seats which will be held on 28 October 2020.
In the second phase, 94 assembly seats will go to the polls on November 3 and in the third phase, 78 assembly seats will go to the polls on November 7. With this, the counting of votes will take place on November 10. This year due to Coronavirus, the election is being conducted in three phases so that the Coronavirus can be controlled. This year the polling timings will be between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Panchayat elections in Bihar have been announced by the state government. These elections will be conducted in 11 phases. With this, the model code of conduct has come into force in the rural areas of Bihar. This information was provided by State Election Commissioner Dr. Deepak Prasad through a press conference on August 24, 2021.
It was also provided by him that elections will be conducted for 255022 posts in 8072 Panchayats. In which 6 crores 38 lakh 94 thousand 737 voters will exercise their franchise. Out of these 33580487 are male voters and 30311779 are female voters and 2471 are other voters. Apart from this, it was also informed by him that the Botia block of West Champaran has been completely included in the municipality. Due to which the number of blocks for Panchayat elections has increased to 533.
The election of Tariyani of Sheohar, Surajgarh of Lakhisarai, Sheikhpur of Sheikhpur, Parvakta of Khagaria, Khagaria of Gogri, and Alauli is scheduled in two phases on the basis of the Zilla Parishad regional constituency. So elections will be held in a total of 540 blocks. 187105 EVMs and 208514 ballot boxes will be used in the election.
Polling will be held in 113891 polling booths in Bihar. Elections have not been held in the first phase in all the flood-affected districts of the state. On September 1, 2021, the information regarding the first phase will be published by the District Election Officer and the process of nomination will start on September 2. In the 1 phase, voting will be held in 12 blocks of 10 districts.
Election work is being done in 12 panchayat areas for the upcoming panchayat elections in the Bhawanipur block area. A total of 88063 voters will cast their vote in the Bhawanipur block. Out of these 88063 voters, 45337 voters are male and 42726 voters are female. In the Bhawanipur block area, about 377 public representatives from different panchayats will participate. All the preparations are being done by the administration for the Panchayat elections.
The work of preparing the voter list has been done by the government. Apart from this, physical verification of all the voter centers is also being done. There are a total of 164 voter centers in the block area, out of which 38 voter centers are very sensitive. Apart from this, 15 voter centers have been identified as sensitive. Area Madhapur district is insurgency affected. Voter centers bordering this district have been marked as very sensitive.
